I am very interested on activity and performance monitoring tools for DB2, I really seek an alternative for ksh and perl scripts =) I have just bookmarked two interesting articles from DeveloperWorks and will download PE at office to start some tests.
I joined IBM on a production DBA team at early 2008, part of my work is analyze and fix deviations and recommend performance improvements based on those scipts' reports. I do believe that PE can enrich the way I currently work, maybe revolutionize =D I'll probably return ehre with my achievments and doubts, ok ?
Hi Steffi, I'm giving a DB2 9 fundamentals certification workshop at the Toronto Lab. One of the participants, Wolfgang, is from Germany and may be asking you some questions soon about certifications in Germany. Please join the new Certification Workshop group and join in the discussions. Thanks!
Hi Steffi, see this discussion in DB2 in Brazil: Translate or not? (and also see my response). Start a similar discussion on DB2 in Germany to see what the students think, and if they're interested in helping with the translation into German. I checked with the manager, and the names of the translators can appear on the first page of the certification material, e.g., on the first page of each tutorial, and also on the first page of each presentation. Not only does this get the students interested in certification, they can learn the material as they're translating it! ;-) Thanks!
If you're visiting LMU university in Munich in January, and promoting DB2 Express-C, can you introduce the university students to the DB2 on Campus community site, and ask if there is anyone interested in becoming a DB2 Student Ambassador or translating the site into German. Thanks and Good Luck!
