My name is Marcelo Sousa and I'm a DB2 ambassador since October 2007 representing the group of Portugal.
I'm in the final year of my bacherlor degree in Informatics Engineering @ Universidade do Minho, and i'm going to finish it going to Universiteit van Amsterdam next semester (February 2009).
In 2008 I worked with Susan Malaika creating the IMS Industry Bundle with pureXML as the first DB2 project.
During 2008 I worked on the translation of the book Getting started with DB2 EN-PT/PT that will be published soon.
Recently I started learning Ruby on Rails with João Moura and Nuno Job. We have created a part of the db2 campus portal related to online testing system with RoR, DB2 and pureXML.
In my academic path I worked with several computer problems and right now one of things I'm working is as researcher @ Physics Department, Universidade do Minho with distributed computing (Fortran90 and MPI) at search1 and dirac clusters.
For all I've seen in this area my interests are: Formal Methods, (Heuristic) Optimization of Algorithms, Graph Teory and Distributed Computing.
That's all for now.
