DB2 in Turin - Italy

Caro collega professionista DB2,

Quest'anno il principale evento europeo del DB2, IDUG 2009, si terrà in Italia, presso l'hotel Marriot a Roma.

E' un'occasione unica di aggiornamento professionale, di scambio di idee ed esperienze tra utilizzatori, sviluppatori e consulenti DB2 provenienti da tutto il mondo; per questo motivo IDUG è sempre alla ricerca di utenti e specialisti che vogliano condividere esempi, esperienze, modalità di utilizzo del DB2 nella propria azienda, partecipando come speaker alla conferenza.

Le presentazioni possono essere di tre tipi:

* Presentazioni tecniche come user: Sono le più richieste, comprendono sessioni degli utenti per gli utenti DB2 della durata di una o due ore al massimo.

* Presentazioni tecniche di prodotti per gestione DB2 (tools & utilities) : Sono presentazioni di prodotti o utility per la gestione delle varie attività normalmente (e non) eseguite nell'ambiente DB2.

* Seminario di un giorno (one-day seminar) : approfondimenti di argomenti inerenti al DB2 della durata di un giorno (6-7 ore). Il giorno dedicato ai seminari sarà venerdì 9 ottobre 2009.

Quest'anno,oltre alle consuete sessioni in lingua inglese, sono previsti spazi per presentazioni in lingua italiana. Invitiamo dunque tutti i colleghi italiani che hanno già materiale pronto o anche solo una bozza di presentazione a spedire un riassunto in lingua inglese entro il 27 febbraio 2009 per la valutazione da parte del comitato organizzatore compilando la 'Call for presentation form' disponibile all'indirizzo:

Le persone prescelte riceveranno un'iscrizione gratuita alla conferenza del valore di 1950 euro. E' un'occasione assolutamente da non perdere. L'invito dell'IDUG a condividere le esperienze con centinaia di colleghi da tutto il mondo è rivolto sia a speaker di provata esperienza ma anche a colleghi che presentano una sessione per la prima volta e che possono quindi portare nuove esperienze ed idee nel mondo DB2.

Hi Sergio, see this discussion in DB2 in Brazil: Translate or not? (and also see my response). Start a similar discussion on DB2 in Turin to see what the students think, and if they're interested in helping with the translation of the certification material into Italian. I checked with the manager, and the names of the translators can appear on the first page of the certification material, e.g., on the first page of each tutorial, and also on the first page of each presentation. Not only does this get the students interested in certification, they can learn the material as they're translating it! ;-) Thanks!
