DB2 9 Fundamentals Certification Exam details and FAQ

DB2 Elite for Academics (see attachment below) provides students with an opportunity to become certified on DB2 9. This nine week program helps students prepare for the DB2 9 Fundamentals Certification Exam (730). This program provides tutorial material to help students prepare for the test, and schedules the certification exam. (Note that we're allowed to translate these tutorial in other languages, therefore if you're interested in participating in the translation for your country, let me know.)
(Note: The IBM ID required to sign-in for the tutorial is different from your IBM Intranet id. If you do not already have an IBM id, follow the link on the above site to register for an IBM id.)

You you can take this SAMPLE exam as many times as you want to improve your score; enter your "full name" so that I can send you your final score for each trial run. This will help you determine which areas you need to focus on.
The DB2 Elite for Academics program runs at the Toronto Lab from Tue, Jan 20, 2009 to March 24, 2009. Specific dates are as follows:
- Seven weekly tutorial review sessions (Tue Jan 20 – Tue Mar 3)
- Overall content review session (Tue Mar 10)
- Certification Exam: Tue March 24 (times to be announced)
In order to be successful, we recommend that students attend all preparation sessions.
Workshop Dates: January 20, 2009 - March 10, 2009
Location: B1-Training Centre
Time: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Approximate # of questions: 64
Duration in minutes: 90
Required Passing Score: 59%
You must get at least 38 questions right!

what is the major difference between exam 700 and 730....? because i have already exam 700 for v8.1

Hi Pradeep, the major difference is that Exam 700 is for DB2 V8.1 and Exam 730 is for DB2 9.

Thks for invitation Agatha, I have already taken 730 and 731, I´m planning to take 734, for 730 and 731 I read free on line tutorials and Both Roger Sander´s Books , this time I couldn´t found free on line tutorials for 734 do you know if exist?, my company has access to books 24x7 I´m reading Roger´s 734 but I like to complement with tutorials. Regards

Hi Agatha,
Wow I just found all this info in the last couple of days. I have been viewing Raul Chong's videos and gathering as much info as I can. Im interested in taking the DB2 9 Fundamentals Certification Exam (730). I deal with DB2 at work, just dont really have anything official saying that I do so. This is kinda exciting like college all over again. Thanks for all the info around here.
