DB2 9.5: Compression Deep Dive

This DB2 Chat with the Lab was held on September 27, 2007.

DB2 9 (code named Viper) brought the initial functionality and capability of Deep Compression. Significant storage savings and in many cases, performance benefit, is possible. Viper 2 will bring additional enhancements to the compression story in DB2, including automation. This session will provide an overview and roadmap of Deep Compression in DB2 as well as share best practices and insights into successfully deploying this functionality. Our speakers will be Sal Vella, Vice President of DB2 Development for Linux, Unix and Windows and Business Intelligence, Bill Minor, DB2 Development Manager, and Chris Eaton, DB2 Product Manager.
